As spring starts and the flowers bloom, the dormice wake up!
It’s now time to be aware!
Topor nomore!
Realize your emotions and the chaos within!
Wake up and smell the roses!
-KLEIS
As the rhythms of spring unfold and the natural world reawakens, The Dormice Awake invites audiences to confront the inner landscapes that stir beneath the surface of everyday perception. In this body of work, KLEIS channels the season’s energy as a metaphor for emotional and psychological emergence, prompting a heightened awareness of both subtle and turbulent states of being.
Drawing from motifs of renewal and introspection, the exhibition navigates between chaos and clarity, urging an embodied recognition of our emotional registers. KLEIS frames this moment of transition not as serene awakening but as an urgent invitation to “wake up” to the proliferating forces within and around us.

Red Door Gallery and Magazine is an independent, artist-run cultural platform based in Copenhagen, operating at Møllegade 23a in the Nørrebro district. It functions both as a physical exhibition space and as the base for Red Door Magazine, a quarterly arts and culture publication with an international network of correspondents and contributors. The initiative was founded to support freedom of expression and to foster interdisciplinary exchange among artists, writers, poets and cultural organisers without paywalls or restrictive access. The gallery’s programme includes exhibitions, workshops, performances, talks, publications and events that foreground experimental, hybrid and community-centred practices, with a focus on poetry, translation, print culture and visual art. Red Door also hosts the Red Transmissions podcast and the Poetic Phonotheque, expanding its engagement beyond the exhibition walls through digital and audio formats. Its activities reflect a commitment to accessibility, independent voices and cross-disciplinary dialogue in both local and global contexts.
